TransAnatolia Rally Raid, which started in Samsun on September 2nd, has completed 5 days of racing. In this race, which passes through 17 provinces and has 122 participants from 13 countries, the competitors who started from the Haymana camp on the fourth day finished the day in Afyonkarahisar.
AFYONKARAHISAR (IGFA) – In the race, which will cover a total of 2350 km, so far, a total of 1770 km has been covered in the stages of Strabon, Tokat, Kösedağ, Çayıralan, Felahiye, Belirsırma, Tuz Gölü, Sakarya, Frigya, and Afyon.
In the Castrol POWER1 motorcycle category, Andorran rider Pol Tarres from the Yamaha team finished first with a time of 12 hours, 7 minutes, and 51 seconds, while Italian rider Alessandro Botturi from the Yamaha team finished second with a time of 12 hours, 19 minutes, and 28 seconds, and Italian rider Jacopo Cerutti from the Aprilia team finished third with a time of 12 hours, 19 minutes, and 41 seconds.
In the car category, in the SSV class, the Iranian duo Hamed Salimi Mavi & Kiarash Zare Rafie finished first with a time of 19 hours and 59 minutes, while the Turkish duo Eren Alver & Kerem Deveci finished second with a time of 24 hours and 16 minutes, and the Iranian duo Ghasem Mohammmadzadeh & Mahmoodreza Ebedian finished third with a time of 49 hours and 13 minutes. In the car class, the duo Murat Kamil Altun & Tuvana Sayar, racing with a Suzuki Grand Vitara, maintained their first place with a time of 17 hours and 56 minutes, while the duo Bekir Kuvvet Erim & Medeni Soysal, racing with a Toyota Hilux, finished second with a time of 18 hours and 43 minutes, and the duo Hüseyin Kurt & Mert Tepe, racing with a Mitsubishi L200, finished third with a time of 19 hours and 40 minutes. In the truck class, the Italian duo Marino Mutti & Andrea Mazzoleni, racing with a Mercedes Unimog, maintained their lead with a time of 20 hours and 59 minutes, while the British team of Holly Wicklow, Dan Scaar, and Joe Peake, racing with a Tatra 815 T, finished second with a time of 25 hours and 47 minutes.
Among the first-time participants in TransAnatolia, the Castrol POWER1 Best Rookie special award went to Dutch competitor Alex Sluyter, who achieved the best result of the day.
On the 6th day of the race, the competitors will start from Afyonkarahisar and cover a total of 269 km, including the special stages “Süvarinin İzinde” and “Dumlupınar,” finishing the day at the camp area in Kütahya Simav.
