President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, to attend the 24th Summit of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. In a statement made by the Directorate of Communications, it was reported that President Erdoğan met with Russian President Vladimir Putin within the scope of the summit.
Turkey Invitation to Putin
According to the information reported by TRT News, President Erdoğan made important statements in the press conference of his meeting with Putin. Stating that the ministers are in constant contact and that they will take serious steps regarding nuclear power plants, Erdoğan said, “We have talks about the Sinop Nuclear Power Plant. We believe that we can take serious steps in this regard. Regarding this issue, our Minister of Energy and Natural Resources continues his talks with his counterpart.”
Erdoğan stated that beyond the warm relations between Russia and Turkey, he would like to host Putin in Turkey as soon as possible and said, “Beyond the warm relations between Russia and Turkey, I would like to host you in my country as soon as possible.” Putin accepted this invitation and said that he would definitely come to Turkey.
