Real Madrid and CAF Forge New Partnership to Promote Sport and Social Integration

In a significant step towards promoting sport, education, and social support in Latin America, Real Madrid’s President Florentino Pérez and CAF Development Bank’s Executive Chairman Sergio Díaz-Granados formalized a partnership agreement at Real Madrid City. The collaboration aims to advance social integration through the Real Madrid Foundation’s social sports schools in Bolivia and Colombia.

Aiming for Social Impact

The alliance focuses on conducting mixed-gender activities that foster gender equality and the positive values of team sports. Additionally, it emphasizes the integration of migrants and returning migrants into society. The Real Madrid Foundation’s social sports schools are dedicated to nurturing skills and values such as respect, teamwork, motivation, hard work, and self-improvement.

Statements from the Leaders

Sergio Díaz-Granados, Executive President of CAF, underscored the importance of the initiative: “Investments in sport are crucial for social integration and inclusion in Latin America and the Caribbean, as they connect children and young people with healthy lifestyles and with the values that we need more than ever today, such as solidarity, gender equality, the drive for self-improvement and respect. Our partnership with the Real Madrid Foundation allows us, using the best of football and basketball, to spread these values to more and more countries in the region.”

Building on Past Success

Real Madrid’s Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, was also present at the event. Florentino Pérez highlighted the significance of the renewed collaboration: “We’re delighted to be collaborating again with CAF in America, given that our first alliance was highly beneficial to thousands of children years ago and it will now improve the lives of more than 2,000 socially disadvantaged youngsters.”
