Turkey Stands with Libya…

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a statement on his social media account, extended his condolences to the victims of the flood disaster in Libya and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

ANKARA (IGFA) – The death toll from the flood in Libya has risen to 3,000. President Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey stands by the people of Libya, saying, “Under the coordination of our Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), three flights have been organized to land in Benghazi.”

President Erdoğan offered his “get well soon” wishes to the people of Libya, stating, “Turkey is with the people of Libya. Under the coordination of our AFAD, three flights have been organized to land in Benghazi in the early hours of this morning. In the planes, there will be 168 personnel for search and rescue operations and other work, 2 search and rescue vehicles, 2 rescue boats; for shelter and other needs, there will be 170 tents, 600 blankets, 400 food and hygiene packages, 20 generators, 1000 raincoats, 500 boots, and 500 flashlights.”

President Erdoğan also announced that personnel from the General Directorate of Security and the General Command of Gendarmerie will participate in fieldwork alongside AFAD. He stated, “Our personnel will include a team of 65 people for underwater and surface search and rescue, as well as members of the Turkish Red Crescent, National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE), and NGO representatives who will be involved in the setup and distribution of shelter and humanitarian aid materials.”
