ISTANBUL (IGFA) – The World Health Organization (WHO) has released its epidemiological update report. According to the report, over 1.4 million new COVID-19 cases and more than 1,800 COVID-19-related deaths were reported during the 28-day period from July 31 to August 27.
According to WHO data, there has been a 38% increase in cases compared to the previous 28-day period.
The report noted a 50% decrease in the death rate, but it pointed out that the cases may not accurately reflect infection rates globally due to a decrease in testing and reporting.
According to the WHO’s epidemiological update report, there have been over 770 million COVID-19 cases and 6,956,000 deaths worldwide as a result of the pandemic.
